Feels

Feels is a soft and comforting word even when those feelings you are having may not be. Just hearing the word sends my mind off thinking of rich smooth velvet or thin soft silk. It makes me think of our skin lightly brushing together and each light hair sticking out on end. It makes me think of our cheeks brushing together as we move our lips closer to meet in a soft slightly wet kiss. I will always know how your body feels when it is pressed against mine. My arms will be wrapped around you as I hold you tight. I will always know what it feels like to love you.
I’ve always been addicted to beat production. From the likes of Dilla to the duo of the Dust Brothers there is a joy in hearing what can be made from beats with an added bit of oomph. San Francisco’s Charlie Yin is a more current purveyor of the beat and uses it as the basis for a hypnotic world of sound that plays around and among those thumps and clicks. His latest offering Feels is a perfect example of that. Gorgeous layers are added and toyed with over a beat that would fit just as equally well with any Hip-Hop artists mixtape as they do underneath his Dream Pop compositions.
