Weekends

by Tiger Waves
album Weekends [Single]

She gives me many different gifts. Her longing glances say that she loves me as she fakes me out with a puckered lip face. Quickly her hands attack sending me into fits of laughter filling my body with tickling sensations. She knows I am exhausted and puts up with me falling asleep next to her on the couch and leads me away to bed. She always spoils me extra on the weekends filling my slight pooching belly with my favorite meals. This weekend she even shared her father with me when I didn’t have one to call my own.

I have a soft spot for a band from Texas as that was where this all began for me. I have an even softer spot for a band that is making intelligent catchy pop that has a dash of the Beach Boys. Tiger Waves had already impressed me with their debut Only Good Bands Have Animal Names and the Don’t Be Yourself EP. However this latest single Weekends plays all of their strengths out in the right amounts. That southern California surf intro, light breakdowns driven by vocals and drums, and tiny details like the hints of horns you will probably only really notice in your headphones. If you missed out on their previous work I urge you not to miss out on this or one day you will regret it when someone else plays it for you first.
